Monitoring the temperature of the fridge or freezer in your lab can be very important depending on the contents of the fridge. Most will use analog or digital min max measurements and log them for QC which is okay.

Some assets are extremely valuable and will perish if a fridge or freezer stops working overnight or without staff noticing. This is where more robust monitoring can play a crucial role in protecting assets like medication, reagents, or samples.

LabQCPro's Integration with Monnit Temperature Monitors

LabQCPro is announcing our new line of integrations with Monnit fridge and freezer monitors capable of hourly reporting -200°C to +370°C at +/- 0.5°C accuracy. This means that you can view temperatures of any fridge/freezer units directly through LabQCPro.

• You can also set alerts for a certain threshold or a set temperature trend so you know if something is wrong

• It will report data for up to 60 hours in a power outage as well with the gateways onboard redundant power supply.

This is the next step in asset protection, and this one affects the bottom line.

3 Key Features

The sensors are calibrated and very accurate. There is automatic data collection done every hour but can be set to collect every 15 minutes.

• This means you can get alerts for fridge failures, or power failures.

• This means you know what's going on in the lab from your phone or LabQCPro.

Since the models LabQCPro provides only work with cellular data, they are air gapped from your WiFi and therefore keep your infrastructure 100% safe.

Setup

We decided to use the Monnit sensors as integration because just like LabQCPro, the setup requires no extra IT work. Using the LabQCPro IoT Setup Wizard, you can start monitoring in about 30 minutes.

This means your entire end-to-end maintenance monitoring system can be setup in less than a day.

Centralized data management and reporting

Export historical fridge data from excel and report daily graphs in your maintenance logs to show your lab has a grip on what matters. Generate QC reports on your fridges from the LabQCPro dashboard.

You can also use this to eliminate manual temperature checks because the tablets you already use for daily and weekly maintenance logs through LabQCPro can communicate with the sensors and grab that daily temperature graph directly from the fridge.

Ability to monitor multiple units and locations

Monitor multiple locations through LabQCPro with as many fridges and freezers you want.

Each IoT system comes with a gateway, and each gateway can communicate with up to 256 sensors up to 2000’ away. Because of the nature of the system and what you are monitoring, we recommend splitting up 20-30 sensors per gateway.

You will also get alerts for a failed sensors and gateway failures similar to the alerts you would get from a rapid drop or rise in temperature or out of spec temperature.
